Heads, intestines, bones. Ask sa wet market for "scraps".
Binlod Rice
Broken rice or NFA. Much cheaper, same busog.
Water
Lots of it! Hydration is life for cats.
Clean Fish
Step 1

The "Dakong Disgrasya" Check (Apdo Removal)

Wash the fish parts well. But wait! CRITICAL MISSION: Find the small green sac (bile/apdo). You MUST cut it out carefully.

โš ๏ธ If this bursts, pait kaayo ang food. The cats will STARVE rather than eat it. Sayang lang imo effort!

Boil Broth
Step 2

Pabukal to the Max (Maximum Fishiness Hack)

Boil the fish parts in water. PRO TIP: Don't drown the fish in too much water! Keep the broth CONCENTRATED. While boiling, SMASH the fish heads and bones with your ladle to release the marrow and juices. The cloudier, the better! If the rice isn't fishy enough, they won't eat it.

Strain
Step 3

The Separation (Walay Bones Allowed)

Scoop out ALL solidsโ€”heads, bones, everything. Set them aside. We only need the yummy fish water for the rice. Why? Because sharp bones = hospital bills. Dili ta gusto ana.

Mash
Step 4

Mag Luto ug Lugaw + Mash

Pour the Binlod rice directly into the boiling fish water. Cook until wet and mushy lugaw. While waiting, pick the soft meat from the bones you set aside. Mash it back into the lugaw. Throw away the hard bones!

Chop Veggies
Step 2

Chop-Chop Veggies

Chop the vegetable scraps into beak-sized pieces. Dili sila ganahan perting dakua, lisod tulon. Think of it as making a salad for them.

Mix Everything
Step 3

In a bucket, mix 2 parts Tahop + 1 part Binlod. Add water until crumbly/moist (dili soup!). Mix in your veggies and crushed shells. Boom! Fiesta na sa tangkal.
